Thumbprint cookies are the easiest and most delicious cookies I've ever made.
It's even nicer than those chocolate chip or m&m cookies I've made before.
Why do I say they're the easiest to make?
Because I only used 4 ingredients: - Butter, white sugar, plain flour and my favorite jam.
These ingredients are actually some usual ingredients you have at home.
For:
Butter- I used 'Cowhead' brand. Doesn't really matter what brand you use anyway but if you use unsalted butter, it would be best if you put a little salt in.
White sugar- Your normal white sugar, not icing sugar. Plain flour- All-purpose flour/plain flour Jam/fruit preserves- ST. Dalfour jam. (Long & thin jar. Can be found even at convenience store) **** Makes: 36 serving ( Lesser if thicker biscuit ) -1/2 cup butter, softened // 125ml
-1/4 cup white sugar // 50ml
-1 cup sifted plain flour // 250 ml - 1/4 cup any flavor jam (Or you can just scoop it out of the jar) 1. Preheat your oven at 190 degrees C ( or 150 deg C for small ovens ) 2. Mix the butter and sugar together until soft and fluffy. 3. Add the flour in and mix well. * if the dough is a little too oily then add a little more flour in.* 4. Roll small pieces of dough around 1 inch and using your thumb, make an indent in the center of the dough. * 1/2 inch indent* You can then fill the jam in.( Before/after is fine ) * I filled it after * Lastly, bake for 20 mins, up to 25 mins for small ovens. You can choose to sprinkle a little icing sugar or put glaze over the cookie. I put it in the fridge, fearing the jam will spoil. Still taste as good the next day ! *** Don't make the ball/base too big, or it'll turn out too thick.*** ENJOY MAKING~ |
